A major focus of our practice is cattle and swine care. We offer comprehensive and dedicated livestock care:

Wild animals - services

Often sick or injured wild animals such as martens, foxes, hedgehogs, badgers, bats, beavers, deer, ... are brought to us with good intentions. As a responsible practice towards nature, we treat wild animals. Contrary to popular belief, we cannot do this for free; we charge a contribution towards expenses. Since we do not want wild animals not to be cared for for financial reasons, we have set up a donation account. This money is used exclusively for the treatment of wild animals.

Responsible for wild animals are in any case gamekeepers or specific organizations and stations.

Petshop - pet food, pet boutique

A diet adapted to the needs of the animal is crucial for the health of your pets. Whether your pet is allergic, athletic, young, has a heart condition or is of mature age, you will find the balanced and correct diet for your pet in our shop. With a special diet adapted to the problems of the animal, you can support a drug therapy. Often only the change of the nutrition to a dietary food is sufficient. Our veterinarians and veterinary practice assistants, who are well trained in nutritional issues, will be happy to advise you on feeding problems.

Clinic

The large waiting room with petshop offers all kinds of things for small animals. In addition to two treatment rooms and an operating room, we have separate recovery wards for dogs and cats. Laboratory facilities and an x-ray and ultrasound room are available for further diagnostic examinations.

Laboratory

• In our in-house laboratory, we can quickly and reliably examine and evaluate a wide variety of samples.
• The immediate analyses allow disease-related changes to be detected quickly and targeted treatments and medication to be initiated.
• This is also often crucial in livestock management on farms.

Company history

• Our practice has been in existence for over 50 years.
• In 1960, Dr. med. vet. Frédéric Schneider (father of Dr. med. vet. Thomas Schneider) moved to Neunkirch with his wife Ruth to set up a practice as a veterinarian. At that time there was a veterinarian in Klettgau, but a 24-hour emergency service, as we know it today, did not yet exist.
• Dr. med. vet. Thomas Schneider passed the state examination in 1987. In addition to his dissertation (1988 / 89), he worked in the practice alongside further training in small animal and large animal medicine.
• Since 1996 Dr. med. vet. Thomas Schneider has been leading the veterinary practice.
• In April 2009 we moved into the new practice building at Schmerlatstrasse 1.
• Today we are the place to go for small and large animals in the region.

Outside opening hours, our veterinary practice provides a 24-hour emergency service for small and large animals. The telephone is then automatically redirected to the on-call veterinarian.

You do not need an appointment during practice opening hours for dispensing medication and feed or for checking your pet's weight.
