Our philosophy

The preservation of the health or the recovery of the health of our patients is our highest goal. The well-being and dignity of the animal is our first priority.
Since illnesses are often caused by multiple influences, it is important for us to include the patient's environment. This includes not only the animal's owner but also the conditions under which the animal is kept, its feeding, and its upbringing. Precautionary measures can already be taken here.

Complementary medicine methods have a high value in our practice, because they take into account the animal as a whole together with its environment and we can thus address problems that are not solved purely by conventional medicine.

Through continuous training in all areas of small animal medicine, we also strive to be up to date and to implement current scientific findings in our practice.

Behavioral medicine

Behavioral medicine comes into play as soon as your pet shows behavioral abnormalities such as stress, agitation, concrete and non concrete fears, separation and loss anxiety, aggression, tics, uncleanliness, urine marking, destruction of objects, excessive licking, scratching or fur pulling, etc. It is used in dogs and cats.

Besides the personality of an animal, many factors can influence its behavior. These are physical diseases as well as influences and experiences from rearing, genetics, possible traumas, influences from the current environment of an animal (people, other animals, environment), education methods and much more.

In the behavioral medical consultation it is particularly important to exclude diseases or painful conditions as triggers for behavioral problems and, if necessary, to include them in a therapy. In addition to a detailed clinical examination of your animal, this often requires a blood test and sometimes a urine test.
Furthermore, the behavioral disorders themselves, the environment of the animal, everyday life and daily routines, upbringing or handling of the animal as well as all possible influences that can affect the animal are addressed in a detailed anamnesis interview. The main focus is to find out why the animal's behavioral problems have arisen. Furthermore I would like to help you to understand the problems of your animal and to find possibilities of change.
If necessary, a behavioral therapy will be initiated. In addition, in consultation with you, I am also happy to use kinesiology as an aid and the animal can be supported by various complementary and conventional remedies. Here, too, it will be determined exactly with what your animal can get the best possible support.
